PUBLIC ARTIST LIMITED C.I.C believes that the arts has the capacity to transform and develop new understandings of the world around us. Working with artists we engage in a process that collaborates directly with communities, contexts and places, developing innovative and creative artist responses to the public realm, the built environment and social context.
We work with a range of public and private sector organisations, developing and producing site-specific projects. We are interested in the intersection of art and life, developing happenings that incorporate human interaction within a social context, placing emphasis on research through practice, interdisciplinary and collaborative working.
Focussed on enhancing links between the visual arts, enterprise and communities, PAL is working on redeveloping sites to improve cultural connections and community ecological democratic approaches.
Public Artist Limited is an independent art consultancy based in Birmingham. The organisation was established in 2015, and arose from a collaboration between Stoford Developments Ltd and Warwickshire College on public art projects associated with Stoford’s property development portfolio. Public Artist Limited works by collaborating on a project-by-project basis, brokering creative partnerships between the stakeholders in each scheme.
Jon Andrews, Director, manages the activities of the business as it develops new ventures and approaches to working in the public realm and the contemporary art world.
Jo Capper, Director, is interested in the phenomenology of the making process and social sculptural practices. These research interests feed directly into the creative direction and collaborations of Public Artist Limited.
