Claude Heath was commissioned to develop a public artwork at Cotmore Business Park, Thame. 152,000ft2 of business space for Windles Group and Groves Ltd in two buildings completed in December 2015. The public art project comprised a sculpture on the frontage of the business park together with a programme of public engagement.

The starting point for the commission was to develop the sculptural equivalent of colour space. Following a briefing visit to the site, Claude Heath identified colour as an agreed theme common to both businesses on the new development, and proposed a deeper examination of it through the parallel processes of artwork design and engagement with the local community.

The project explored the practicalities and tensions of commissioning new public artwork.  The project was successfully completed after an extended timeline, remaining within budget by utilising multiple local skilled resources to achieve the artists original vision.
